Headed for White Salmon Wa. Friday night with my buddy Steve, We stopped by a Native American Cooler, that had Columbia River wild caught fishes in it. the cost 40 dollar for the bright one with no fin clippage - sold. off we went!
We hit the local store up for grub and grog and headed for the pad, once here we broke out the tradditional hunting and life mind altering devices and planned our attack on key locations of the woods we entended to forage.
Forage we did
12 stops 12 miles of nothing at each place,,,, but the last stop was a mile long doosey.
Found this skull in the woods near the mushroom patch
A obsidian stone tool with oregon black morels
Found lots of treats to eat in fact we came back to this place a second time and on Monday it produced better than it did on Saturday.
Here is the Syrian Puff Ball - reported to be delishious, the fresher the better, but even young they have a rubbery flesh and reminded me of a sea scallop, even cooked it looked and sorta tasted like a sea scallop.... ill pass on, this food of the gods.
Weird lookin huh!
more Oregon black naturals
Nice plump black morel
More of what to expect, these lil darlins look just like a damn fir cone or pine cone on the ground, dont get toooooo bug eyed, crossed eyed or lizarded lipped, droolin over the morels.
The Sno Bank Morel - reported to be edible, not goin any where with this one, ill pass on it, just show me the real ones.......
The False Morel - not sure how anyone could confuse it with a real morel but they do look close at times to the sno bank morels, they come in all the same colors, brown, tan, red, black and blonde.

Thoughts of Past Adventures
Well I decided that my new blog needed to be updated with memories of my past. Iv had a wild past, full of excitment, danger, thrills, spills, sex and dreams.
One of my most favorite places to visit is this place - the Sawtooth mtn, in the Indian Heaven Wilderness of SW Washington, one can hear a pin drop here, you can sit and ponder lifes peoples BS and not have many worries, other than intruders, walking thru your camp - a reason to ponder more about lifes peoples.
I also Hunt rocks
I have accumulated several tons of agate, jasper, petrified wood and other semi presious gem stones in Oregon and Washington. All of it is for sale.......... inquire about what I may have, thats of value to you. Here is a few small samples.
One other fav spot is Falls Creek Cave - for Iam a spelunker -- This perticular cave system is located in the Gifford Pinchote NF and is a lava tube, it is segmented with several other caves in its flow. Near by are other fasinating systems of caves, some with some awesome special features.
As you might see, im full of outdoor adventure and thrill seeking , IM always chasing a rainbow, searching for lost treasure and my pot of gold. My eliment is fun, wild and or extream, maybe not in all that order but its there.
At times IM one with nature, and IM the only one..... peace at last, can it be IM the only one here........maybe., , just maybe I got this whole damn river to myself, nothing like having your own private island or beach in a wilderness setting, far from crowds.
Here Iam, far from any paved road or street - doin what turns me on, batteling a force greater than no other - H2O.
With over 1000 miles logged on rivers, there is no place id rather be.
Blasting thru a hole on the deshutes river in the high desert country of eastern Oregon with my friend.
I always know where all the KEWL hot spots are to play. This perticular place is the body surfin channel on the White River..... can u say party...... This is a must stop and park the rafts and hike to play in the water slide and life jacket surf, in the middle of the desert, here is an oasis that should not be missed.
Fun in the desert heat cant be beat here on the white river confluence, 100 yards from the Deshutes river............

Oregon coast day trip
Yesterday, we headed for Vernonia Oregon for the oregon trail road rally, my lady friends son was working in one of the pit crews for the road rally. We didnt get to see much action, because most of all the compeating cars all broke down or wrecked, from all the rough terrain they had to traverse.
In fact
We picked up 2 drivers from Michigan who had spun out, ditched it and lost 2nd gear, their hopes for a win was lost. they couldnt put up the hills in 3rd gear with their 6 speed suburu tranny....... they offered us $20 to take them back to the pits, we declined and said jump in and hang on my lady is driving...... lol
The heat was a factor as well - friday it was 100 and saturday was 95 out, the oregon coast set record temps up n down the coast.
We had to stop and play in the Nehalem River for a bit to cool off.
From there we headed for Cannon Beach Oregon and enjoyed a wonderful eveing relaxing at the beach, We ate some dinner at Bills, Tavern and brewery.
the halibut fish n chips were great, the oyster shooters were fresh and the blackberry ales were good.
over all it was a great day of sites and sounds and people watching
